Managing it well is critical. But managing it can easily become a brutal, self-alienating endeavor. We need good [[Systems for efficient life administration]]. Ones which integrate managerial parts and elevate their voices ([[The managers want integration too]]). For me, major threats to well-spent time are: - Work. Tends to be my primary addiction. If I slide into black hole mode with work, I reduce bit by bit the time I allot to other things. Like connection with my partner, like exercise, like taking care of my health, like getting enough sleep. It's a slide into disaster. - Mobile games and popcorn apps like TikTok. The insidious thing is that if I hit a moment of overwhelm because I have too much to do, the impulse is to escape into the momentarily safe world of whatever mobile app I'm currently using.
