It assumes an ontology, as any perspective must ([[There is no view from nowhere]]). A map, to be useful, must highlight some things, and let other things fall away. If it let nothing fall away, it would be bare reality itself, which is not a perfect map. So then there's the question of *which* things it will highlight, and which things it will omit. There is no global optimum here either: optimality depends on goals, and goals change depending on circumstances. There can be no perfect map. Can there be a perfect atlas? A perfect collection of maps, containing an optimal map for every set of circumstances? Anyway, here are some DALL-E renderings of perfect maps. ![[DALL·E 2022-11-09 10.58.35 - a map that is a glowing portal to another universe, digital art.png]] ![[DALL·E 2022-11-09 10.59.12 - the perfect map glowing with cosmic transcendence.png]] ![[DALL·E 2022-11-09 11.04.19 - the ultimate scientific schematic of the universe.png]] ![[DALL·E 2022-11-09 11.00.56 - a map that is a glowing portal to another universe, digital art.png]] ![[DALL·E 2022-11-09 11.00.49 - a map that is a glowing portal to another universe, digital art.png]]
