It's helpful to have a [[Vision]] of who you are becoming — that more unfolded, perfected, grown and learned and healed version of yourself that you're moving toward. It's You [[Prime]].
It's helpful because this vison can serve as a [[Model]], and [[Models govern affordance salience]]. With such a vision in your system, you can notice affordances that are conducive to it. Without such a vision, you're likely to miss them.
It's probably even more helpful to have a multiplicity of visions. They don't need to be consistent or compatible. You're not doing backchained planning here. You're doing something more like what they talk about in the kooky book that was popular ~15 years ago, "The Secret" — which is making desirable futures more likely to manifest by envisioning them explicitly.
Having a bunch of them will help you to avoid getting attached to the vision as if it's the real thing ([[Beware the simulacrum]]).
For me I call it [[Matt Prime]]. I have a friend who calls it Freestyle Natalie. What you call it, and how you connect with it, is personal, and it's something you have to find.
It's also useful to develop this for people you care about. Then you can help them grow.
[[Therapy prime]] — what Therapy can become.
